Hybrid Repairs
Hybrids can get interesting because you have both your traditional gasoline powered engine and your electric motor that power the vehicle. On a hybrid, you’ll need to do all of the same maintenance you have to do on any other car, like:
- Oil changes
- Fluid Services
- Filter replacements
- Spark plug replacement
In addition, you’ll need to take care of your car’s electrical system. The only “maintenance” you’ll need to perform on the electrical system will be the replacement of the vehicle’s battery, which can be quite the undertaking.
Electric Vehicle Repairs
There is a common misconception that electric vehicles don’t need maintenance services. You certainly won’t be doing oil changes or replacing spark plugs on your electric vehicle. But there is an entire car wrapped around that electrical drive system that needs to be maintained.
You’ll still need periodic replacement of components such as brakes and tires. Your EV still has an air conditioning system and the a/c cabin filter is one of the few filters that your vehicle has. It will need to be replaced periodically as well.
